The ZC1 is used to protect doors and windows. Typically, a magnet (included) is mounted on a door or window and the contact switch is mounted on the door frame or windowsill (see Figure 1). An open zone signal is sent through the combus to the control panel when the magnet moves away from the reed switch (included). When the magnet returns to its position close to the reed switch, a zone restore signal is sent. The distance between the magnet and the reed switch is determined by the magnet’s specifications
